Moody & Romantic Styled Shoot :: Alexandria, MN Wedding Photographer
Okay, this blog may have a ton of images, I’m sorry, but I just love them all so much! This styled wedding was such a blast to put together and photograph. We collaborated with the most amazing vendors and had the sweetest models.
One of my goals when I do a styled shoot, is to encourage couples to think outside of the box. Dare to be different; whether that’s in big, bold ways, or small details. I just think your wedding celebration should genuinely reflect you, your relationship, and what you enjoy. Because, honestly, there’s no one way to do a wedding. Have fun with it!
The theme of this “wedding” came from the cake artist’s idea to make a black cake with gold detail. I loved the idea of a moody, romantic vibe, so we decided to bring in black details through the sash, jewelry, and part of our groom’s suit. The black really made his burgundy suit pop, which is great because I love color at a wedding! We balanced out the black with gold touches and soft florals, and brought a timeless feel in through the bride’s hair style. With the venue’s amazing natural light and twinkle light wrapped beams in the background, we had the perfect setting while staying perfectly warm. (It was about 0 degrees that day!) We did brave the outside for one image, because, hey, it’s Minnesota. 🙂
Thank you to our models and real life couple, Jacque & Quinn Nohl. Our gorgeous dresses were from Special Event Boutique with the killer suit and Johnston & Murphy shoes coming from The Dashery. Amanda from LittleCakes Cupcakery created the cake, a true work of art, with Lizzy from Flour & Petal gracing us with the florals. Flawless hair and makeup thanks to Kaitlyn & Christin of Ella’s Salon, with our gorgeous location being Glenwood’s very own Lakeside Ballroom!
